Standard On Most New RVs

TPO RV Roofing

TPO is the membrane found on most current production RVs — reflective, durable, and built with heat-welded seams. It still needs the right repair methods and TPO-compatible materials. We repair, reseal, and fully replace TPO roofs.

TPO Roof Services

Penetration Resealing
Vents, AC units, antennas, and edge trim resealed with a sealant compatible with TPO membrane.
Punctures & Damage
Tears, punctures, and impact damage repaired with TPO-compatible patch material.
Seam Problems
Seams that have opened or lifted are cleaned, prepped, and repaired before water reaches the decking.
Full TPO Replacement
Failed TPO removed, decking checked and repaired, and a new membrane installed with every penetration re-flashed.

TPO Basics

TPO (thermoplastic polyolefin) is a newer membrane than EPDM and has become standard on most current production RVs. Its seams are heat-welded instead of glued, and its surface is highly reflective.

TPO generally needs less upkeep than rubber, but the vents, AC units, and edges still rely on sealant, and the membrane can be punctured or damaged. Using the wrong patch or sealant on TPO is a common cause of repeat leaks.

Quick Answers

What is the difference between TPO and EPDM?
EPDM is a rubber membrane with glued seams. TPO is a thermoplastic membrane with heat-welded seams and a more reflective surface. TPO generally requires less maintenance over time. We work with both.
Can you patch a TPO roof?
Yes. Punctures, tears, and lifted seams can usually be repaired with TPO-compatible materials, as long as the decking underneath is still sound.
Does a TPO roof still need resealing?
Yes. Even with welded seams, the sealant around vents, AC units, antennas, and edges dries out and cracks over time and needs regular checks.
Can my TPO roof be replaced?
Yes. We remove the old membrane, repair any rotted decking, and install a new roof with every penetration re-flashed and sealed.
